Michelle Chinn Cannon Boise State University, B.A., East Carolina University, M.M., Completed Suzuki Teacher Training Books 1-10 with Joanne Bath, William Starr, Pat D'Ercole, Cathy Lee and Allen Lieb. Specializes in instruction of children with special needs, specifically Autism/PDD. Published article in American Suzuki Journal: Working With The Autistic Student, presented at the SAA 14th Annual Conference. Continues researching music and autism through UNC Chapel Hill's Interdisciplinary Autism PhD program.

Dale Cannon East Carolina University, Teacher Training Certificate Books 1-10. Completed Suzuki Teacher Training with Joanne Bath and Ed Sprunger. Specializes in the instruction of young children using the Suzuki Approach and has extensive experience teaching children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, ADD/ADHD and various forms of communication handicaps and developmental delays.

Community Suzuki Music School is pleased to introduce our Board of Directors who bring over 70 years of combined teaching and leadership experience to our school. These individuals are truly dedicated to the Suzuki philosophy and prove day after day that 'every child can learn.'

Joanne Bath, M.M., Professor at East Carolina University

University of Michigan, B.M., Denison University, Certificate from the Conservatoire Americaine in Fontainebleu, France. Suzuki Teacher Training with John Kendall, William Starr and Craig Timmerman. Was one of the first teachers in the U.S. to use the ideas of Shinichi Suzuki of Japan when she began Suzuki violin teaching in 1964. Started one of the first Suzuki programs in North Carolina. Registered Teacher trainer and member of the Board of Directors of the Suzuki Association of the Americas(SAA), Was violinist in the Toledo (Ohio), Wichita (Kansas) and East Carolina Symphonies and concertmaster of the New Carolina Sinfonia. Violinist in the Testore Quartet and in the Bath Duo. Appears in the Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in American Women and has received several honors and awards including foremost Women of the Twentieth Century and Outstanding Teacher Award from the North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem, NC. Recipient of the 1996 North Carolina Award in Fine Arts.
